- OBIT: Tonkawa -- Mrs. Nancy Ellen Steele, 92, died early Saturday morning in a Tonkawa Nursing Home. She was born Feb. 18, 1877, in Ohio, and had been a resident of Tonkawa since 1925, coming here from Jackson, OH. Mrs. Steele was a member of the First Christian Church and had taught Sunday school in the primary department 18 years. Surviving her are a daughter, Mrs. Robert Campbell, Tonkawa; four sons' Raymond, Vernon Tex. Clarence Pittsburgh,Pa., [eland, Fig Spring, Tex., and Lawrence, Jackson, OH, 23 grandchildren and several great grandchildren. Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Monday in McCafferty-Bolick Funeral Home chapel. The Rev. Robert audd will officiate and burial will be in the Tonkawa Odd Fellows Cemetery. Pallbearers will be W. S. Marsh Merritt Witter, Sill Gearhard and Walter Bewley. The family has suggested that those "wishing" to honor Mrs. Steele's memory may do so by making a contribution to the Christian Church memorial fund through the church office.
