For many years Mrs. Shane lived at 1709 N. California Ave., Peoria, and for the last 11 years had made her home with a daughter, Mrs. H. Smith (Mary) Applegate, 1619 W. Latham Ln., Peoria.
A Peoria resident over 50 years, she was born in Speer December 21, 1874, the daughter of Owen W. and Hannah Elizabeth Pinkney Hurd. She was married to Rollin C. Shane in Speer October 17, 1912. He died in Peoria April 26, 1957.

A 50 year member of Union Congregational Church of Peoria, she was a member of the Union Mothers Club, now Francis B. Lynch Study Club. She was a memebr of Chapter R, P.E.O.; and a member and past matron of Electa Chapter 175, O.E.S.
