Andrew Daniel Shane, 94, of 1806 E. Mossville Rd died at 4:55 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 5, 1997, at his residence.
Born Dec. 2, 1902 to Charles and Abigail Neal Shane, he married Esther M. Bennett in 1926. She died in 1942. He married Velda I. Pease in 1943 in Peoria. She survives.
Also surviving are five daughters, Gladys Beals of Peoria, Virginia Nyman and Charlotte Bowman, both of Sacramento, Calif., Martha Dutton of Garden Grove, Calif., and Wilma Allendale of Rio Linda, Calif.; one son, John of Lady Lake, Fla.; 20 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; one brother, Jack Rouse of Highland, Calif.; and one sister, Lou Baskin of Oklahoma. He was preceded in death by one son, Andrew Shane, seven brothers and two sisters.
He worked on the assembly line at Caterpillar for 19nyears. He later was owner-operator of Shane Auto parts.
He was an Army Veteran.
He was a member of the Knoxville Avenue Seventh Day Adventist Church, where memorial services will be at 1 p.m. Sunday. The Rev. Jay Baker will officiate. Cremation will be accorded. Wilton Mortuary is in cahrge of arrangements.
Memorials may be made to his church.
1925 Iowa census-Andrew was a boarder with the Neville family near Martha, his sister.
